A quiet 'I Love You.'

I don't want to forget this moment, ever.

Luke usually "picks" who he wants to read to him before bed. Sometimes it's Mommy. Sometimes it's Daddy (a lot these days :)) and quite often no matter who he picks, we both stay in there. One of us doing the reading in the rocking chair with Luke while the other lays on the floor listening to the story so that we both get to lay him in his crib and give him 'double' the good night kisses and I love you's.

Last night, Greg had to run to the store, so it was just me reading. Afterwards, Luke specifically asked me to "rock you more." As I was rocking him in the silence, his head on my shoulder, he gently lifted his head, looked up at my face, and in the softest little whisper told me 'I love you, mommy' then turned his head and layed it back on my shoulder.

I don't want the 'rock you mores' and the quiet I love you's to end.
