Gage's Sip and See

This afternoon I finally got to meet Gage Hansberger! Ashleigh (the mama) and I were roommates in college and she now lives in Oklahoma. Her mom and dad still live in Houston and had a sip and see for Gage. He is precious and was so sweet the entire time even being passed around! It was so good to see Ashleigh and Daniel and meet their baby Gage.

Long Weekend At the Bay

This past weekend Greg had new grass planted at the bay house to get it ready to put back on the market. We decided to make a weekend out of it since the weather was perfect and we needed to be there to water the grass for the first few days. For those who don't know, we finished building the house Feb. o7' and moved out there full time in May 07' after I finished teaching. It is apprx. 5 miles South of Kemah and 20 minutes North of Galveston. After almost a year and a half of a LONG commute for Greg, we decided to put it up for sale and in the meantime move back into Houston Galleria area. (where we were living when we met and right after we married) It just so happened that less than 2 weeks after the move, hurricane Ike hit the bay almost directly head on and took the entire garage with it, stairs to get upstairs, all of the landscaping (which Greg worked so hard to maintain and was so pretty), the entire fence, and the homes all around us. We were fortunate to only have to replace replace things below the house and that the entire living space upstairs was not hurt AT ALL! It was still completely livable. Our sweet neighbors who lost everything rented the house for a couple of months after the storm. Now it is time to start getting it ready to put back up for sale and while doing so we plan on enjoying it on pretty weekends until it's gone.

View of the house and new grass. Yay for a new garage underneath!

New grass and fence.

this used to be rows of docks and boathouses...Ike took them.

Flower bed that used to have 2 more palms and lots of pretty plants and flowers. We are NOT replanting anything again. Someone will just have to want to buy it as is!

Porch where we spent the mornings reading and having coffee...well OJ for me! This is the part I miss most about living there and will be sad about once it is gone.

Where I spent the afternoon reading this past weekend. Thank goodness for pretty weather and a good book because we don't have cable, computer, or TV out there anymore! It is kind of nice to just relax with books, sunshine, and boardgames!

excuse the blinding paleness! Jesse loves the sunshine!

this is where our neighbors house was. It has been completely leveled and hauled off...even the concrete slab. so sad.

and his name is...

LUKE ALSTON JONES

we can't wait to meet you!

16 week check up with my NEW Dr. S.

Last week I went to my new doctor for the first time. I must say...he is no Dr. W. He was nice and thorough but still so "doctory" ...as in quieter. Dr. W (my old doc. - the specialist that I had seen for almost 3 years!) is very charismatic, spent forever talking with me, and was very personable. Maybe I just need to get to know Dr. S. better before 'judging.'

Overall, the appointment went well. He said I'm measuring perfect and baby's heartbeat is strong 150's! He was so so close to doing an ultrasound...he had even typed in my info. into the machine until he realized I have already had 3 with Dr. W. and my next appointment will be the BIG 20 week ultrasound. Darn. I love to see the baby!! Just 3 weeks until we do! I hope he is as healthy as ever!

I will post a belly pic soon...maybe the 20 week post. We are so thankful to be this far along with a healthy baby boy! Praise God!

A few pics

Since it is still cold and rainy I will post the before and after pics of the house later. Here are a few from the nursery. We only have the crib and of couse the start of his wardrobe! We also went ahead and bought the stroller because it was on sale! My sweet mom ordered us this cute old fashioned high chair and had it sent to us this past week! Of couse I couldn't wait to see what it looked like all put together so Greg went to work. Now...what to do with it for a year?! Everytime I walk into the nursery I get so excited to meet our little boy!

I need to sew bigger, brighter ribbons on the bumper to tie it on. I was thinking green ones.

finally a part of the blog world!

Well the time has come to join the blogger world! I can't promise from now until baby boy Jones arrives it will be very interesting but I have been told that I will want the pregnancy journey documented so here we go!

I am approximately 15.5 weeks along and finally starting to feel better. The first few months were off and on yuck! I think I ate more french fries, chicken nuggest (McDonalds/CFA :-), and ketchup in 3 months than I have eaten in a year! It was the only thing that sounded good most of the time. Well now that I am feeling better...I will work on that...maybe! I had been seeing a high risk specialist doctor (Dr. W) and after our last appointment I am officially released to my new regular OB! It was bittersweet. I really liked him so much but I am happy to not be labled "high risk" anymore and so happy we have a healthy growing little boy! We go for our 16 week this wednesday! I hope I like new Dr. S!

As far as the Jones household, we recently bought a house in the west Houston area...RIGHT ACROSS THE STREET FROM OUR BESTIES, THE GARRETTS! We are also less than .5 mile from other besties....the Shelfers, the Coles, and the Chambers! It has been so fun living in the neighborhood. I have seen friends more in the past couple of months than I saw the last entire year! Greg has spent just about every weekend working on little fixer up projects around the house and has done an amazing job. I will post pics soon...just have to take them first! (and figure out how to post them on this) We love our little "bungalo!"

more posts and pics to come!
