Play date!

Our friends Rachel, Olivia, and Hattie invited us over for a fun Wednesday lunch this week. Our little ones are almost all the exact same age...in fact, Luke and Olivia are only one day a part. It was a pretty morning to play outside on their FUN bouncy house!

sand AND in mega need for a hair trim! (on the agenda for this weekend!)!

I am becoming a bit anxious about what the late Spring/Summer heat is going to do to Luke's skin. Wednesday was a warmer day and he came home from playing so hard with multiple new large blisters. He continues to amaze us with his determination and pain tolerance. One thing is for sure, if parts of my body, especially my feet, looked like his precious ones, I would not walk...let alone run, jump, and play the way he does! We are thankful for this boy and his fighting spirit!

our weekend

We had another great weekend even with the rain. I love a stay-at-home-rent-a movie Friday night...which is exactly what we had after we put Luke to bed. I'm not sure I could have thought of anything better to do on a rainy Friday evening...PJ's, popcorn, candy, and a movie with Greg.

Saturday we did a little shopping, a little relaxing at Starbucks, and I cooked a new recipe. It was better than expected. Gnocchi with butternut squash and kale. I have never had any of those things and was pleasantly surprised.

After church on Sunday we had a yummy lunch together, relaxing afternoon of napping and baking, then went over to our neighbors house for a fun 'Maudi Gras' dinner! Jenn is quite the cook making us home made chicken and sausage gumbo and rice, crawfish pies, and an amazing King Cake from scratch! It was delicious. Luke and Hudson had a great time playing together while we adults stuffed our faces and visited.

showering baby Sutton

Last weekend, Luke and I drove to Dallas to help host a baby shower for my sister, Anna. Baby Sutton will be here in March...SO SOON and we are thrilled! I can't wait to snuggle my little nephew and watch him grow. Luke ( I think ) understands that he is going to meet a baby boy named Sutton and that 'Auntie' is going to be Sutton's mommy. It was a wonderful morning filled with a lot of love. One thing is for sure...he is one blessed little boy already from all of the 'things' he received to having a loving mommy, daddy, grandparents, and of course aunts, uncles, and his cousin Luke! :) Here are some pics from the special morning.

Valentine's Day

We had a great Valentine's day. Greg thinks the day is just another way for retailers to make money...and it is....BUT it is still a fun day to give a little extra love to each other!
pretty art
we feel very loved!

Greg and I had a yummy lunch out together while Luke was at school. It was a beautiful day to eat outside in the sunshine and a special mid day treat together! After I picked up Luke, we went to Ooh La La with our friends to enjoy a 'Valentine Day' cupcake.
Luke is really NOT wanting his pic taken...really wants to dig into his cupcake!
much better

I cooked a "fancy" dinner for Greg and I that evening. It was a perfect day with a little extra love.
