nursery update/34.5 weeks

Yesterday was my 34 week check up...a little late because Dr. S has been out of town. I have asked at every appointment "is the baby measuring bigger/smaller," and Dr. S replies "nope...right on target." So...since it has only been 2 weeks since the last appointment and I have gotten the same answer every time, I didn't even ask as he was measuring. He measures, goes and reads my chart, comes back and measures again, then with a big smirk on his face I hear these words..."this is a big baby!" what!? Luke must have had a growth spurt in 2 weeks! Maybe that is why in the past 2 weeks I have felt more weird pains and pressure than I have the entire pregnancy! I have heard so many things that the measurement isn't always accurate/doesn't necessarily mean he will come early etc... so, big, average, or small, we are just happy and thankful that Luke is growing and seems to be healthy! Although, if it is true that bigger babies sleep better...then GROW little boy! Dr. S also let me know that there is plenty of room left for Luke to grow and that is exactly what he is going to do these last few weeks! YIKES. Just when I thought he was running out of room. God is such a great engineer.

Yes, this is my KKG intramural shirt! GO KAPPA!

A night at the circus!

Tuesday night Greg, Kelsey and I went to the circus! I had not been since I was little. It was great entertainment and YUMMY food! Can't wait until Luke is here and old enough to go.

Jones' babysitting club and ONE bump shot!

A few nights ago, Greg and I got to babysit sweet James Thomas at our house while the Garrett's and family went to dinner. It was so fun and James Thomas was very well behaved. I realized that newborns can be a little boring :) (at least when I am not the one getting up all night and feeding all day!) He slept like an angel most of the time and had to have one diaper change..which was a preview of our life in just a few short weeks. Greg had run to the grocery store when I realized by the mild stink that James Thomas needed a fresh diaper. I have changed lots of diapers...but never on a TINY, squirmy newborn. So I called Greg and told him to get home to help! Of course he comes right in and takes over and 'ta-da' has a clean diaper on him in 2 seconds! Gosh I hope I am a good mommy!

so sweet!

notice a very curious pup

Jesse came and layed his head on James Thomas' feet...jealous maybe?? (excuse this very awkward position I am in...there were tons of pillows behind me but I didn't want Jesse to move so we could get a picture!)

Last night we also got to babysit the Cole girls. Julie and Matt had a one on one date with Jacob! Hannah is 2 and Elizabeth is just about 12 weeks. (right Julie?) I now have a glimpse into what it is like to have a toddler and a baby. A BIG ENERGY EXPENDITURE! With all the activity, I forgot to take a single picture from the evening! Here is a small breakdown from the night. Chocolate chip cookie and Dora for Hannah while Greg and Kelsey had dinner, then we all attempted to go on a walk with 2 strollers, 2 babies, and a cute poodle until Elizabeth became a little fussy-it was dinner time for her. Greg stayed back at the house and fed her while Kelsey and I took Jesse and Hannah on a walk. Once we got home, I took Hannah and Elizabeth across the street to say 'hi' to the Garretts. Then it was home to wait on mommy and daddy! We had a great evening with 2 adorable little girls! Next time I will be sure to snap some pics!

ok, here is a bump pic...almost 30 weeks, I think 29.5...it was taken a few days ago right out of bed (hints the hair and sleepy face!) my belly looks bigger at night...A LOT bigger. I will try to do a morning/night pic this week!

James Thomas' debut!

Lindsay and James welcomed James Thomas Garrett into the world Thursday June 4! He is perfect! I feel so blessed to have been a part of the special day. Originally I was going to be the photographer in the room. Soo...I had my phone ringer on high all Wednesday night and into Thursday. Early Thursday morning I talked to James and he said Lindsay was progressing and that he would call in a couple of hours to give me an update or let me know when I needed to start heading to the hospital. So, with all kinds of excitement, I waited, prayed, waited some more, sent a few texts to James...nothing. Then I get a call from James..."we are parents!!" WHAT?! Due to a few minor road humps, Lindsay had to have a c-section. I immediately jumped in the car, picked up a sonic coke for the new mommy, and went to meet the newest addition. I stayed at the hospital the entire afternoon into the night with the entire family. It was so special to be with Lindsay in the recovery area and love on James Thomas during his very first hours of life. It is a day I will never forget and am so thankful for. Lindsay and James mean so much to Greg and I and we can't wait to watch this little boy grow and become friends with Luke, of course!
So special...I love them so much!
It won't be long until this picture is duplicated...except with little Luke!
